Recording update: I need to practice more

I laid down the rhythm guitar tracks yesterday and it took all day to do four songs but they sounds really good.

I used my JCM 800 and a Fender Prosonic.  I pushed the JCM 800 with a tube screamer that I modded for more output and bass.  The 800 was run through my Mesa Cab with Vintage 30s and the Prosonic was run through a fender cab of some type.  I don’t even know what it was but it sounded good.  The Prosonic is an awesome amp.  It’s got a lot of gain and can definitely keep up with the 800.  The amps were run simultaneously and I doubled most of the guitar parts.

In summary, the tracks already sound huge without even having laid down Lew’s parts.  The hardest part was playing the parts tight.  I already practice with a metronome but it’s still difficult to hear yourself from a 3rd person perspective.  Once Lew has his own day coming up in a couple weeks to lay his tracks down, it’s vocals and guitar solos time so I got two weeks to get my chops back up to par.
